We really love trying out products from Think Fun. I was pleased to get approved to review the
What is it all about?
From the manufacturer:
"Maker Studio™ inspires imagination and a love for engineering. In this set featuring winches, you’ll be able to build a tow truck, a jeep, a well and a crane. For each build you’re given Engineering Challenges – experiment with friction, torque and propulsion as you engineer your solutions. Once you’ve mastered all four builds, get creative and design something that’s all your own!"
What was our experience with the Maker Studio: Winches Set?
Fun times! We basically needed a recycled box- and luckily we had the right size handy, and en excuse to make shells and cheese one night that week.
The set is too advanced for the toddler, but I have to say, that the man of the house loves stuff like this, even at his age. The toddler likes to sit and watch him assemble the parts.
He took about a half an hour to put this together, and I think he will probably let the toddler play with it as is, instead of taking it apart and such. She will probably start picking it apart, and then we will get inventive;)
These are pictures of his finished creation.
The winch is fully movable and the toddler has been having a blast with it.
The little vehicle moves pretty fast on our laminate, which pleases the toddler as well.
I love the fact that we are using our minds and hands to create something. Like many of the Think Fun products- this isn't something that beeps and you sit like a zombie and watch. You have to think every step of the way and be engaged with the building process.
I also like that it uses a waste item to create something new and cool.
Overall, we really enjoyed playing with the Maker Studio: Winches Set. We know this will be something she can enjoy as she gets older too!
We will be reviewing another set shortly. Can't wait to see what creations will be on the living room floor next!
Thanks so much for letting us try the Maker Studio: Winches Set.
