Hummingbird Glass Straws Review + Giveaway
Disclosure: I received a free product in exchange for my honest review.
I have been wanting to try a set of glass straws since forever, so I was very happy to get approved to try the Hummingbird Glass Straws.
I was able to select the color set that I wanted as well. It was kind of a hard choice. I was torn between clear- and being able to easily see the cool beverages I was drinking going up the straw. I mean who isn't still amused by this as an adult?
And then there were all the gorgeous colors. Green, blue, purple... I decided to go with green and blue. I figured this would be pretty awesome to match my blue glass margarita set.. and after all, who doesn't love a margarita? lol
It really was a tough choice though. Look at these colors!!!
I was not entirely sure what to expect the first time I used one of these straws. I love using straws for most of my cold beverages. It helps keep me from chewing the ice. (I keep cracking fillings so I need to chill on the ice chewing and also cashew chewing apparently.)
The first thing I noted, was that after taking the photos, my cold water transferred its cold to the straw. THAT was pretty neat. No plastic straw really can do that. It was a new experience.
I was also impressed that there was none of the plastic-y taste that straws can give you. I never even realized how much taste that was until I used a glass straw.
I am completely in love.
I really think these are going to be great for smoothies and cold coffee drinks as well. Normally I would be pretty hesitant to drink something like that in a reusable straw- how to get it clean? Well, my straw set came with a handy dandy cleaner.
It is metal and just bendy enough to accommodate the curve of the straw. You can get the leftover smoothie or such out of the straw and rinse it all clean again.
Now tell me- why don't kids straw cups come with these? lol
I am a little nervous about storing these- I could leave them in a cup in the cupboard, but I feel a little nervous that someone might knock it over or something like that.. instead, I waited until the straws were dry and I put them back in the padded box they came in. I put the box in an out of the way drawer. I love them too much to let a toddler get them!
(when she is older I will entrust her with one.. maybe.. lol)
Overall, I adore these straws. I am going to use them with joy for a long time!!!
