Disclosure: I received a free product in exchange for my review.
We are really big fans of glucosamine products in our household, so we were very pleased to review a supplement for our dog- FlexComplete for Dogs. After all, if we take it, why not have the dog take it too?
Our dog has a growth plate issue in both of her front legs. She has some obvious bending. We were advised not to do surgery yet by an orthopedic specialist for dogs, but in the mean time, we are trying to help support our dog's joints with supplements.
First- it is guarenteed to work, or you get your money back. Now, glucosamine does not work overnight, so you do have to give it some time- that is my personal experience with taking it. The same should be true for dogs.. and of course- you can't exactly ask them, so you have to kind of wait and see.

Glucosamine produces glycosaminoglycan, which is used to help form and repair body tissues such as cartilage.
When we age, and dogs, the natural production of glucosamine in the body slows, which means our natural repair process in the body slows, eventually leading to joint pain and stiffness.
Wear and tear on top of that causes pain for all of us. It is pretty common to supplement both people and dogs! ( I used to supplement my arthritic cat too.)
Like I said, we are big fans of glucosamine.
Other great ingredients in FlexComplete for Dogs:
- Vitamin C
- Boswellia Serrata
- Curcumin ( I will be trying a product this week with this ingredient;)
So did the dog like it?
My dog was suspicious of the pills at first, but then decided to go for it, and hasn't looked back. I have the toddler give her the pills as a snack, and she is pretty interested as soon as she sees the bottle.
I do notice that our dog is a bit more spry when she is on this supplement. It is not a miracle cure for her by any means- she has bone issues that will need repair, but it can help give her a better quality of life until surgery time. (which is going to be pretty painful for her.)
Anything we can do to help her feel better is on our list.
If your dog is aging and moving a bit slower than usual, it is worth the time to check out a supplement!
Thanks so much to FlexComplete for Dogs for letting us try this product!
