11 X 14 Aluminyze Print Review + Giveaway

11 X 14 Aluminyze Print Review + Giveaway

I simply adore photography. I am not particularly good at it, but I love to take pictures and look at pictures.. even of people I don't know. That might be a little weird, but alas, there it is.

I was SO excited to get approved to do a review for Aluminyze. An 11x14 to be exact.

Have you seen an aluminum print before?

If not, you are in for a serious treat.

From their website, I got the following info:

  • What is an Aluminyzed Print?

Aluminyze prints are images infused directly into a sheet of aluminum using a hot press - a process called sublimation. The result? A vibrant and durable print with unparalleled color and depth.

  • What kind of Surfaces and Finishes do you offer?

We currently offer both Silver and White surfaces and Glossy and Matte finishes. The Silver Surface amplifies your image by printing it on raw aluminum. The White Surface has a white coating on top of the raw metal and allows for a blank canvas to keep your image true to color. The Glossy Finish enhances reflectivity and shine which adds depth and dimension. For a softer, subdued look, choose the Matte Finish — it will silence the glare and mute the shine.

I would love to tour their manufacturing area, but I am just a big ole geek!

So how did my Aluminyze print look?

Incredible. I love this photo anyway- if you haven't guessed- I made it my logo for Itzybellababy years ago. I love thinking back on my baby's tiny little feet. lol

The colors are just as rich and deep as my photo.

The print is lightweight, and sturdy at the same time. Know how I know? Some toddler took a shine to the print and carried it around the house a lot- exclaiming- This is my feet. This is my feet.

Now I would never dream of letting her carry around a paper photo I cherished, especially in a glass frame.

I keep thinking back on the earthquake days when I lived in California, and how I hated to hang glass photo frames- no matter how you secure them, they are bound to end up in a  mess of glass in your house during a good shaking. No issue here! If this picture falls off the wall, it is not going to break. I am all about the safety you know!

Aluminum is a sweet metal and is going to last. Why do you think they make siding from it? It can stand up to abuse, but it isn't going to cost and arm and a leg either!

The print has a little tab on the back for hanging, and I found it to be pretty simple to deal with.

I also know this is going to last longer than old paper copies of photos. I imagine all the fading and graying of the pictures of my Gramma, and I wish this was around before my pictures broke down!

Overall, I am positive I will be buying more of the Aluminyze prints in the future.  You should definitely check it out for holiday gift giving..

Thanks so much to Aluminyze for letting us review their prints. I am going to treasure this photo!

In the mean time- you can enter the giveaway for a print of your own!
