Wine Club from Uncorked Ventures Review

Wine Club from Uncorked Ventures Review

I was recently asked to review the Wine Club from Uncorked Ventures. I have to say that I jumped at the chance!

The Wine Club from Uncorked Ventures is a family business outside of San Francsico. They pride themselves on working directly with vineyards to secure the bottles that they distribute to their clients. The wines are all 90 points and above and are well respected by major wine critics.

Since I am no specialist, I always appreciate a good report from someone who is!

I love trying new wines, and although my budget does not usually allow it, I do enjoy the occasional glass of higher end wine when I go out.  I have purchased a few bottles that were pricier, but I often find that I want to either sample the wine in store or google the ratings and pairings on a bottle.

So a wine club is probably a better choice altogether! I was given the choice of red or white, and the choice between a 2 bottle set and a single bottle of higher value from their Special Selections Wine Club.

I went with the single bottle!

I was sent a very securely packaged bottle of red wine. The box was inside a box and it really held up perfectly in shipment. I was very happy to see that!

The wine I received was from Vin Roc in Napa Valley. They have their operation inside of a cave built into the earth near their vineyards.

I can tell you that if I am ever in the area again, I am going to stop by that place- it just looks really cool!

(I have been on a few wine tours with my family when I was a kid, but somehow it is more fun when you can drink the wine!)

My wine is a Red Table Wine and in my humble opinion, is probably my favorite red wine.. ever. I may have had fancier wine on business trips in France and Italy, but I think this was still better..

It had a really clean finish, and I ended up drinking 2 huge glasses. My man also drank his glass, and he is not even a fan of wine. That says something!

I corked it up and enjoyed the rest the next night, on my Gramma's birthday (which I always celebrate with special foods.) It made the night a little bit nicer.

So, this review is not so much about the wine, but rather the Wine Club from Uncorked Ventures.

Why would someone want to purchase a membership to the club?

Well, the wine came with a great story sheet about the vineyard and the bottle. It gave ratings and tasting notes..

For a person like me, a bottle like this every month would expand my understanding and appreciation of wine in general. The club selects only the best, and the wines THEY like.

If you are a wine fan already, you will get the chance to try some wine that may be a little off your beaten track, or not, and you just want it delivered with no fuss...

Wine Club from Uncorked Ventures.is more intimately involved with the winemakers themselves, and frankly I really like that aspect. I would love to shake the person's hand that put my wine in my bottle.

What could be a lovelier connection?

So- for me- this is a great idea for a gift, a personal splurge on a life event.. or just a functional way to try new wines on a regular basis.. no trips to the store, no wondering where the wine has been or how it has been treated over time.

It is a holiday or birthday gift I would love to receive!

Thanks so much to the Wine Club from Uncorked Ventures for letting us try this very special wine!
