You all know I have this super cute dog, as seen on her own blog- http://aliasadog.blogspot.com/. She is not as busy writing lately, since she has been helping me with some reviews of pet food and treats and such.
She was very happy to try the Petbrosia custom dog food, especially since it was delivered straight to our door!.
First off, Alia is a Basset Hound and German Shepard mix, by most vet's opinion. We got her as a tiny puppy and when we got her, we were told she was a St. Bernard. Ok. Well, her littermates looked like they were, but she was different. Very different!
We read a lot about having a big dog like a St. Bernard, and we learned that when they are puppies they should be treated carefully, as they grow quickly and sometimes have bone issues from it. We coddled her. No long or heavy play sessions and we didn't encourage jumping and such.
Oddly, she ended up having bone plate issues anyway. We consulted a surgeon when she was around one, and she agreed surgery may be in her future, but not yet, as she did not think Alia was in pain, no matter how weird her legs looked. (The surgery involves cutting her leg and reattaching it properly, and 2 months of no movement with pins in her leg.)
We have been careful with her food choices to keep fish oils in her diet and weight down. She is not a heavily active dog most of the day. I think the leg is starting to bother her sometimes, so we keep an eye out on diet still.

In order to start our trial for the review, I was asked to provide information about her age, breed, allergies, health concerns and activity level so they could pick the best food for her.
Petbrosia offers a grain free salmon dog food, so we tried that. Fish is great for her joints after all! They also add L-Carnitine which is great for building lean dogs! We really do need to keep her a healthy weight, since those little crooked joints will be under more stress with more weight.
Our trial of Petbrosia was without any issues. We introduced the new food over a period of days and Alia was happy to nose through her bowl and eat all the new food. She is a comic. She ate her old food later of course. If you are looking for info on how to switch to a new food, they have a helpful guide for that as well.
She has been pretty active this week in the house- it has been hot out and we have limited outside time when she runs around. I would say her energy level was great, and no issues in the poop department. (sorry, tmi)
Generally though, she has a pretty strong constitution and she is not picky. She will eat just about anything once... and if it is the toddler's breakfast waffle, she will eat that as often as she can. It is kind of hard to interview her in detail about her experience, but I would say she gives it a paw up.
