Rumiano Organic Non-GMO Cheese Review

I have to say, that after all the news about GMOs in our foods, I have really made an effort to avoid buying them when I can. It is hard!

Rumiano Home_Organic

I was very pleased to be able to review a sampling of cheeses from Rumiano- Organic, and non-GMO.

We are pretty big fans of cheese around this house. I munch on cheese curds, and cheese sticks and nothing is more satisfying to me than a big old plate of cheese and crackers at midnight. With a toddler around, cheese is an easy and healthy snack as well.. but if it isn't organic and non-GMO you lose those healthy aspects.

Of course, like I always say- it can be green and healthy and organic, but if it tastes yucky no one will eat it! This is clearly not the case here.

I was given 3 coupons to pick any 3 cheseses from the Rumiano organic line. I double checked the cheese finder on their website, and it showed Whole Foods as the closest place. Well, it isn't as close as the store we were going to- Sprouts- so I decided to just take a look for it just in case.. YEA! They had it!

They actually had the full line of Rumiano cheeses- they also sell the non organic varieties, and I have to say those flavors looked tempting too. But I was on a mission!

Organic ColbyOrganic Pepper JackOrganic Sharp Cheddar

I decided to go with Sharp Cheddar, Colby and Pepper Jack. Normally I wouldn't get the jack, but it looked good, so we got it.

We did our taste tests over a period of a few days.

With Ritz crackers and saltines for the pepper jack- can I say- wow. Really delicious! I sometimes find pepper jack to be a little too much something.. fakey flavor maybe? This was fresh tasting, not too spicey, and I ate the whole pack of it in 2 days by myself.

The sharp cheddar was really purchased for the man of the house. I am not a fan of sharp cheddar generally, and he is crazy for it. This was actually quite good for both of this. I would not say it was not overly sharp like I expected, and that was a good thing. It was creamy and I enjoyed it with crackers, and also over some tortilla chips with salsa. I would buy it again.

Finally, we tried colby. Here was another cheese pack I ate by myself- with crackers.. delicious. Smooth, good clean flavor and it was definitely one I would eat again.  I did not share any of it with the toddler. HA! She was sleeping when I ate it anyway..

I am a big fan of these cheeses overall- the price was reasonable for each package. It was readily available at the closest store to me. I can see nothing better!

So, if you are looking to shake that nasty GMO cheese you have been eating, try these- they will not disappoint!

Thanks so much to Rumiano Cheese for letting us try these.

We will be customers again soon- smoked mozzarella, I have my eye on you!

Instanatural Argan, Coconut, Jojoba Oil Hair Treatment and Elixir Review

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

I am such a huge fan of the products from Instanatural. I have reviewed their Rose Water and I am in love with that! I was very happy to try their Argan, Coconut, Jojoba Oil Hair Treatment and Elixir.

I have fairly thick hair since I had my daughter, and my hair is not terribly dry, but it does have split ends and such.

I spent a few hours in a swimming pool a few weeks back and thought that this would be the best time to try this oil for the first time. I washed my hair with a swim shampoo that usually leaves my hair pretty dry without the conditioner.

I have to admit that the first time I used it, I used WAY too much and had to wash it out almost immediately. This product should not be layered on like other oils- it is way too rich!

I decided to try this again after washing my hair with a Dead Sea Mud shampoo.

A few squirts in my hand covered all of my long hair well. I suspect less squirts would be sufficient- and by less I mean one or two.

There are no nasty chemical smells or artificial scents here- this is the real deal- all you need to moisturize naturally and nothing else!

My hair was moist and healthy looking and felt great for days. I often get reactions to hair products, but this gave me none, so I am certain to use it again.

Thanks so much for letting me try the Argan, Coconut, Jojoba Oil Hair Treatment and Elixir.

Pure Peppermint Oil Review- Made in the USA!

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

If you have never used any aromatherapy or essential oil products before, I highly suggest trying peppermint as one of your first products. I got to sample a bottle of Pure Peppermint Oil and it was fantastic.

I have been using essential oils for years for any number of ailments. I also have a sensitive nose. I really am not a fan of most commercial scents, as they are just too strong, too toxic and too fake smelling. A pure oil made of peppermint is refreshing, clean and is even better during the holidays.

But there are so many other ways to use it!

You can add a drop into a foot bath and get refreshed feet in seconds. I have tired feet all the time and it is a great additive.

Another great use IS to repel flies- we had SO many flies in Phoenix this year.  I went to visit my friend's horses a few weeks back and I refuse to use pesticide on myself and daughter-I whipped up a spray of lavender, eucalyptus and a bunch of peppermint oil and sprayed it on our clothes before we went out. We had no flies! ( some poor horsies did though.)

I have also used it to help with headaches and stuffed noses. I recently read that it also repels rodents!

This oil was made in the USA and was created by the gentle super-critical steam extraction process, which gives it a highert potency!

I really love this particular oil though, as the scent was just right. I will be enjoying this for a long time to come.

Thanks so much to the makers of Pure Peppermint Oil - Elite Gold Solutions for letting us sample their great oil.

Check them out to see all the other great oils and products that they have!

4 Pack Lambie & Me Swaddle Blankets Review and Giveaway

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

I was recently offered the opportunity a set of swaddle blankets from Lambie & Me. I must admit, I have a toddler around 2 years old, and although we are not swaddling her anymore, we do have one blanket that we used to swaddle her in that we use quite a bit.

I was ecstatic to be able to try this brand, especially since it is an organic product.

The set I received has 2 of the red and gray polka dots and 2 of the caterpillars.

If you have never felt an organic swaddle blanket, I suggest you try it.So soft and light, and it has such a pleasing feel on the skin. I was so excited to get this package, I tossed them in the wash immediately so we could use them at the nap time that day.

They wash beautifully. Even softer the second time I washed them. My daughter was squealing as she played with all 4 of them, and she knew they were for her. She picked one to nap with, and even as a toddler in the 99th percentile for height, a 47 inch blanket is going to cover her a long time.

I picked one to nap too- I wear a cami top around the house, and often get a little chill when sleeping or sitting on the couch and this swaddle blanket is the best to just throw over myself as a light cover.

I love having a set of four- I was constantly washing the one we had when she was younger, I was so tired I guess it never occurred to me to buy another..lol.

Swaddling was a lifesaver for us when my daughter was a newborn. She rarely slept away from me or her dad, and a swaddle helped her get comfy on those rare occasions she slept alone. She just wasn't ready to be away from a warm mamma I guess. Swaddling that is performed properly is soothing and keeps baby happy!

We are planning a trip in a few weeks, and we tested the blanket for fit in toddler's backpack, and it was small enough to fit with plenty of room for books and toys. We will use that blanket to cover her, me, or as a place to play if we are stuck anywhere. She will be comforted having something familiar from home.

When she was younger, we also used the muslin blanket we had to cover her carseat when we were out (people always trying to touch her.) This lightweight fabric is perfect- just enough to repel people but give her a cover that breathes.

We didn't do a lot of nursing in public, but this would have been ideal as a cover- 47 x 47 is much bigger than most nursing covers, and certainly made of more breathable material. It would have been fantastic.

I won't lie- I tried to swaddle the toddler. She thought it was pretty funny. I think we could have done it too if she hadn't giggled so much.

Overall, I am very pleased with these swaddle blankets.

Thanks so much to Lambie & Me for letting us try these!

They would like to give one of you a set for yourself!

Number One Nutrition Probiotic Supplement Review

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

We love probiotics around here. I have taken them for the better part of the last 2 years, and I have to say, that other than a case of really nasty food poisoning, I have hardly gotten sick. I was happy to test the Advanced Probiotic formula.

The manufacturer informed me:

"Drastically improve your digestive health.
- Balance your intestinal flora.
- Improve your mood.
- Accelerate your fat loss. "

I was especially interested in their money back guarantee- if this product does not give you better digestion, they will refund your money. I do not have any specific digestion issues, so I was not worried about that, but I did want to make sure that the formula didn't cause me any issues.

It did not!

I am happy to report that the pills are easy to take, have no particular smell or taste and they kept my belly happy while I was taking them.

They have a whole selection of health enhancing products on their Amazon page, so check them out!

Thanks so much to the makers of  Advanced Probiotic formula for letting us try them out.

"On Va Jouer - Let's Play" French Immersion for Kids DVD Review

I was recently given the opportunity to review a brand new French immersion DVD for kids  "On Va Jouer - Let's Play."

On Va Jouer

I was very happy about this because my daughter absolutely adored the music CD that Whistlefritz sent to us not long ago.

You can see the review here for Allons Danser Lets Dance

I do not speak French myself, although I do know a few words. I should correct myself- I used to know a few less words.. now I know more!

First of all, when we received the DVD I told my daughter that it was a French movie. She was jumping around excitedly to open it. She really has enjoyed the music from the CD, asking for it often, and now it is more so with the DVD.

We have had On Va Jouer for a few weeks, and my daughter asks for Whistle Fritz or French French by name and we watch it.. often 2 or 3 times in a row.

(The price of the DVD is worth it alone just to hear a toddler say Whistle Fritz.)

She dances during the musical segments.

I cannot think of anything funnier than a toddler dancing like Axl Rose while listening to a French rendition of Heads, Shoulders, Knees and Toes.

She laughs like a crazy toddler during a section on sneezing.

If she knew how to rewind the DVD herself, she would probably watch that section over and over again.

It occurs to me today, as she is watching it, that she loves watching the kids most of all. They dance, sing and they repeat words and interact with "Marie" the star of the show.

She came up to me after Heads, Shoulders, Knees and Toes and told me what the parts were (In English) but I can tell she knows there is something going on in the DVD.

I think the age is exactly perfect to introduce the concepts of language.

She understands what she is watching.

I can see it. She has not spoken any French yet, but we are really working on saying words and repeating in English, so I am sure some French repetition is just around the corner.

( AND- as I typed that- she just said bouche.. )

Immersion is a great way to pick up any language, and these DVDs and CDs are great ways to introduce French to a child.. or even her mom;)  There is a French and even a Spanish series of DVDs so that there is continuity of learning.

Check out On Va Jouer - Let's Play and experience what we are- it is incredibly fun! It is available on DVD and also on Amazon Instant video.

Thanks again to Whistlefritz for letting us experience their French immersion products.

Don't forget to like them on Facebook for special deals and updates on new products!

WooBamboo Kid's Eco Toothbrush Review and Giveaway

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

I am pretty excited- I was asked to do a review of  WooBamboo Kid's Eco Toothbrushes.

Now if you recall, I did the review of the adult version a few months ago, and I was in love with it. Problem was- my toddler took one of my toothbrushes.

She loved it.

She kept it too!

I was very excited when I was offered the kid's version so she could have one of her own. They actually sent 2 which is even better- one for each bathroom. Or one for travel most immediately, since we will be going on a trip in a few weeks.

So what is so great about these toothbrushes?

I have been using plastic toothbrushes all of my life. I have never seen anything else until recently. That adds up to a lot of toothbrushes over time, and a landfill of plastic is out there filled with my dental products. That is not the kind of thing that leaves a better world for my daughter!

The toothbrushes at www.bambootoothbrushes.com are made of renewable bamboo. Good for the planet. Good for us.

But like all other products, if the eco version isn't as good or better than the destructo version, no one will have a reason to use it.

I was very pleased with my brush, and I just knew that my daughter would like her little version. She DID take my adult one after all!

So when the package came in the mail- here is what happened-

The size is perfect for her little hands, and her little mouth. She seemed to like the colors of bristles. She kept running her fingers all over them- squealing all the time.
(She does have other toothbrushes- honest, but she never got terribly interested in them.. she was even terrified of one of them.)

She wouldn't give it back until she felt her teeth were clean enough.. not toothpaste, no water.. just a crazy happy toddler with a toothbrush that looks like Mama's and is good for the Earth!

Having a product that a toddler loves certainly makes it easier to build positive dental habits that last a lifetime.

Thanks so much to the WooBamboo folks at
www.bambootoothbrushes.com for letting us try the kid's version of our favorite toothbrush!

They would like to give your kids the chance to try the awesome brushes as well- enter now!
