Review of Chamberlain's Leather Milk Leather Care Liniment No. 1

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

I was recently given the chance to review Chamberlain's Leather Milk Leather Care Liniment No. 1. We have quite a few things that could use some refreshing, so I was very happy to give this product a whirl.

First off, shoe polish to me is generally repugnant because of the smell. I have a delicate nose, and can't have most leather cleaners and such around because they make me ill. This one indicated it was water based, so I thought why not give it a go?

Here is the info I was provided:

Leather Care Liniment No. 1 is a milky, water-based natural leather care recipe containing some remarkable leather enriching ingredients. This product contains oils that can be described as ‘lighter’ rather than ‘heavier’ oil types; and, because the product is water-based, it also works as a mild cleaner.  In practical terms what this means is that for leather items that benefit from being ‘refreshed’ frequently, without having to worry about overloading your leather with oils and conditioners…Leather Care Liniment is the perfect solution!  For instance, leather coats, bags, auto interiors, and furniture…these are the kinds of things that are exposed to public scrutiny and human touch on a regular basis.  You can use Leather Care Liniment often, for a quick, effective, cleaning and revitalizing result.

Just as milk is a primary nutrient for so much of animal and human life, so Chamberlain’s Leather Milk is for all things leather.  Those who buy our products tend to be people who own quality leather items (leather furniture, luxurious auto interiors, leather briefcases, purses, and luggage); and, they tend to be people who know how to take care of their good stuff.  This is how it is with quality leather goods: the leather needs to be cared for in a particular way and in regular fashion for it to look its best and last for years to come.  Chamberlain’s Leather Milk was created for just this purpose!  Made from natural, leather-nutrient-rich ingredients; concocted from natural oils and conditioners, plus a few highly classified mystical properties…Chamberlain’s Leather Milk will feed, strengthen, and beautify your leather goods.  Try it on your leather coat and matching gloves, or your motorcycle gear…we even have something for your hunting boots!  Start Milking your leather today!

Who doesn't want their leather milked? lol. Seriously though, they have this formulation and a few others to choose from, so if you need something that is heavier duty, they have that too.

For your consideration, I present a pair of a few year old DUSTY and scratched pair of Dexter leather shoes. I love these shoes a lot. I also have them in red suede and when I wear them I fancy myself a flamenco dancer. This may be odd, but you get the idea that I love these shoes. I got them very cheap, but as I recall they were from Nordstrom and kind of on the pricey side originally..

You may have heard me complain about my feet getting HUGE when I had my daughter. The only thing that still fits me 2 years after baby is my Birkenstocks. Sad. So these poor shoes and all the rest have been languishing in my closet for over 3 years.

The shoes are sad looking.

The dust is mostly from a humidifier that we ran 24/7 when my daughter had eczema. White, fine and everywhere. So here are the sad before pictures. They needed a cleaning.

The instructions for the liniment say to wipe the shoes with a cloth before cleaning, so I did.

They look a little better, but as you can see they have some scruffy spots that can use some attention.

I polished them up according o the instructions, and I have to say I was pretty impressed. The shoes were not thrashed, but they looked absolutely brand new after a little attention.

I was surprised at what came off of my shoes. For the record, the cream is white, and it smells really good. Not at all like the nasty polish I used to use on my shoes as a kid. That stuff would get on your hands and it would stink forever and stain. This cream- water based and it came right off my hands. It did not stink at all!

So more clean shoes!

Looking good!

All of the scratches and little imperfections are gone. It is weird really- how did that happen? I have no idea, but these shoes look new again.

Yahoo!

Thanks so much to Chamberlain's Leather Milk Leather Care for restoring my shoes.. I have a chair that is going to be cleaned up next and some car seats and purses.. and well, you get the idea:)

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
