I was recently asked to review Dapper Snappers. I have seen these around, but never picked them up for some reason. I guess we found one!
My daughter was born on the large side. She has since been very tall. When I say tall, I mean 95-99% range tall. She is bigger than some kids a year or more older than her. She is also a little on the thinner side in the belly, at least judging by the pants we buy..
Shopping is a challenge. She grows in spurts of course, so I have almost always purchased clothes that were too big, stretchy and long.
We use cloth diapers so we always need to make sure we have room in the booty to cover the diaper. So many clothes these days are short crotch to waist, so her diaper is always poking out.
Toddler life is hard right?
Well, not that bad, but we do look for ways to make things easier. In this case- Dapper Snappers.
A little about the product, from the manufacturer:
"*Versatile in a wide range of colors for girls and boys
*Recommended for ages 9 months -6 years old and One Size Fits All
*Perfect for kids who are in between sizes or wearing hand-me-downs!
*Adjustable to 4 sizes
*Convenient - no need to remove for diaper changes & doesn’t impede potty training
*100% in the USA
We rarely buy anything denim because it almost never covers her, and of course we do live in Phoenix.
Denim can be warm. But we got a pair of hand me down pants from a relative, from the Gap. They are practically in new shape, and I was pretty determined to get some wear out of them.
Problem is- she is just now wearing them at the right length, and still the waist is too loose. When I put a disposable diaper on her to go out, the pants just came right on down. They sit ok on her, but they fall down when she is active. And of course she is very active.
So along comes Dapper Snappers!
We attached it to the pants and I am happy to report that the toddler is able to:
- run and not loose her pants
- bend over and not show her whole diaper and bum to the world
- pull them up and down if she really wanted to ( great for later potty training)
- wear a disposable diaper easily
- have her diaper changed without fussing with the zipper and snaps on the pants
We really like the color of this lavender item. It is pretty, and will match a lot of her wardrobe.. because toddlers want to match!
It is on the small setting for these pants, but we can easily adjust it to bigger when she gets bigger. It will last her a very long time!
So what are some tips to get more from the toddler wardrobe?
- buy big- tunic shirts can be worn as dresses, and then shirts, pants can be rolled up
- buy light clothes and layer ( in case you are out of season- you can always add a layer)
- buy stretchy
- add Dapper Snappers to extend the time to wear pants ( it can go up to 6 years old!)
- add Dapper Snappers extender clips for pants with no belt loops
