Reed & Barton Gingham Bear Baby Water Globe Gift Review + Giveaway

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.
When you think of classic baby gifts, it is hard not to envision products like silver spoons, beautiful picture frames and snow globes. At least that is how I feel.

I was asked to review an item from  Reed & Barton and I was pretty excited. I was asked to select an item from the gingham collection. It was a pretty easy choice for me. My daughter loves water and snow globes, and she also likes music.

I also wanted to have her help select the item, so I showed her the pink bunny and the blue bear. She picked the bear, so that was what I got. ( In know- blue is for boys, but we are not a pink family here- and the globe doesn't SAY boy or girl on it;)

Here is the item description from their page:

"Rotating to the soothing tune of Brahms' Lullaby, the Gingham Bear Waterglobe from Reed & Barton is sure to delight baby boys. The Gingham Bear sits amidst sparkling glitter, while the silverplated base spells B-A-B-Y in soft enameled colors. Elegantly packaged for gift-giving. Part of the Gingham Bear Collection.
  • Adorable Gingham Bear revolves with music
  • Plays: Brahms' Lullaby
  • H. 6 1/2""

The package arrived very quickly to our home. It was in a solid well packed box, with the item boxed in styrofoam to protect it. It was in perfect condition. It is a heavy piece between the metal, glass and water so it is important that it was protected during shipping.

When I opened it, my daughter squealed in delight. She really wanted to run around the house with it, but of course I didn't let her. I managed to get it back without too much fuss to show her it also played music. She was really excited now.

We have a few other snow and water globes for the holidays. I have paid varying amounts of money for them, but I would say that the craftmanship and quality on this product is much higher. Clearly these are meant to stay with a child for years, and be passed on to the next generation when the child grows up. I can see her delighting in this for years, and then reflecting fondly as an adult of when she used to play with it.

Reed and Barton  was kind enough to offer my readers a giveaway of a bear waterglobe.
