Lumenx mountable bicycle light review

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

I was asked to review a Lumenx mountable bicycle light, and I was pretty excited.

We have bikes that we would love to ride at night, when it is cooler, but we never got a light to help make it happen. What a great opportunity! ( Phoenix can be over 90 even at night, so daytime riding is out for us!)

Bicycle safety is so important, especially at night. People drive like they own the road, so bikers always need to protect themselves the best they can. Helmets, and visibility are going to be the best items to use. Having more than one light- one to see ahead, and one so people can see you from behind is so important.

In our neighborhood we also have wildlife to contend with. Coyotes come out at night and patrol the neighborhood for small animals (and lately they like small dogs a lot.) It can be scary if you can't see them. Now you can!

Here is some info provided to me from the manufacturer:

   * Bright CREE Q5 bulb
   * Up to 500 feet light visibility
   * 1x - 2000x zoom and flash mode
   * Portable and easy to install, no tools required
   * Durability military grade aluminum
   * Waterproof with advanced "O" ring seal
   * Convenient safety features

For the moment though, we have installed the light on the toddler's tricycle. She loves tearing around on this and now she can do it even in the dark hallway.

Adjustable distances

Installation, even on a trike, is easy. I was able to get both lights installed within about 2 minutes. The main light has 2 corrugated pieces of rubber that allows you to install the light holder on a thick or thin handle. In this case, the trike has a medium sized  arm, so I used one thin piece of the rubber. It was secure enough that the toddler was not going to be able to remove it, and she tried of course.  If we need to remove the light to use as a flashlight, that is easy enough as well.

If we are parked somewhere, we can take the light portion off easily so no one decides to help themselves to it, but we can easily put it back on again when we are ready.

 That all sounds great. But how does it work?

The light is bright! It has 2 settings, one narrow and one wide, and anything in between. This is going to be fantastic for adjusting the beam to the conditions- wide open or narrow streets.

The lights both flash or stay stable. The choice is yours- visibility will be incredible!

There also is a rumor from the man of the house that this flashlight will be taken on a hunting trip sometime soon. I am not sure if that is going to happen- I think the toddler will not want to give up her light!

Thanks so much to Lumenx for letting us try this-we will use it for years for our safety!

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
