I was recently provided the opportunity to review a Lotus Bumz diaper with matching leg warmers. I was pretty excited. I have heard a lot of good stuff about them, and I was eager to put the diaper to the toddler test.
First things- my daughter weighs about 30 pounds at the moment, and she is tall, tall, tall.
We have a hard time fitting shirts because she is so long in the torso. She also has grown out of a lot of her cloth diapers over the past few months. So we are not entirely average.
She is also a heavy wetter. So there is that.
I will say that I love elephants. I was told I would get either fish or elephants as a print, and even though the fish are super cute, I reallllly wanted elephants, and that happened to be what I got:)
The diaper is terribly cute. The leg warmers are the same. I love the design. I also love the feel of the diaper fabric, on the inside and out. It is really soft, and looks great.
I prepped the diaper and insert the way I normally do, which is several washes in the machine with Rockin Green soap. There is nothing special about the prep compared to any other cloth diaper I have found. I did put it in the dryer once or twice, but lately I have just been hanging all my pockets and covers to give them a longer life. ( I did not buy a lot of diapers at first, so my oldest dipes are pretty well beat from elastic to velcro. Skipping the dryer probably would have helped that)
SO the fit-
The toddler, peculiar as she is, was able to easily fit into this adjustable diaper. She is on the largest setting of course, but any baby under the age of 2 is going to fit in this I am sure, and for a long time.
The insert I was sent is a standard microfiber insert. We always need to double up on inserts, but that is toddler life. I had an insert from another diaper, and just stuffed it on in the pocket with the other. It fit nicely still.
These diapers are very trim. You will be very happy that your fluffy bum will be able to fit in more pants this way. They hold a decent amount with the 2 inserts, and I had no leaks.
I also found the diaper to fit the toddler in all the right places, with little gapping or stretching that shouldn't occur.
Because she is a little tall, we did have a little fold over going on once in awhile, but I suspect part of this is how I snap the dipe. I always have a little thing the first few times I use a new style of snaps. It always works itself out though.( and it doesn't effect the leak etc.)
Overall I was very pleased to try this diaper, and have it added to my stash!
Now for the leg warmers-- love them! We will be using these for some time, as there is still a lot of stretch and length to them for a toddler. It is going to be a breeze to use these when we (eventually) start potty training. No pants, but no cold legs either.
These look great don't they?
