Red Leaf Tea White Matcha Tea Review

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

I have been very fortunate to try a number of tea products from Red Leaf Tea. They have just recently sent me a bag of White Matcha tea to taste.

I love tea, I love matcha, so it was another no brainer.

I was not entirely sure what to expect from the product in terms of color and flavor. I have read many other reviews ( other brands) and have never been terribly impressed with what people had to say. They complain about the color and flavor, and I was never tempted to purchase because of this. However...

THIS tea did not disappoint me.

This tea is delicious!

The color is a light color, definitely not white- but I am certainly not expecting that. I care about taste. This delivers.

The white matcha is milder than the green. It is not a replacement- to me there is a place for both colors in my tea cabinet. I like a little variety! This also has less caffeine than green tea, so it has a place for me later in the day. I am very sensitive to caffeine- so I usually have to cut myself off from teas after 2 or so.. not with this one!

I was also provided some information about the tea:

"The health benefits of White Matcha include:

  • High antioxidant count to kill free radicals in the blood stream
Reduces the risk of certain types of cancer
Decreases fine lines and wrinkles in the skin
    Helps maintain a beautiful complexion
Has only one percent (1%) caffeine content of coffee"

MIRA Lunch Box, Snack Box, Stainless Steel 2 Container Set Review

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

If you have followed our blog long enough, you know we are constantly trying to find new ways to keep our home safe from chemicals for out toddler.

Over the years, I have loved glass for myself, but it isn't always practical for taking places, and it is definitely not great with a toddler.  We struggle with her need to throw things, or simply drop them from time to time. We have no carpet in our home, and some marble tile in the kitchen, so dropping glass is perilous for us.

Stainless is a great alternative for us. I was happy to be offered a sample of lunch box containers from
Mira Brands

They sent me 2 containers with blue lids to test out. The information they provided:

"Featuring non-toxic kid-friendly easy-snap secure lids
Free of BPA, phthalates, PVC and lead

Containers are made of unlined 18/8 food-grade stainless steel, lids are made of non-toxic LDPE number 4 plastic, 2 small containers 5-ounces

ect snack packing solution. Eco-Friendly and Reusable.

Holds fresh or dried fruit, nuts, cheerios, pretzels, sandwiches, hummus, and more!"

I must say that we love these containers. My daughter squealed in delight when I opened the package, as if she just knew they were for her. She grabbed them and ran off and put all kinds of things in them- her beads, toys, Little People, etc.  She could open and close the lids herself, which is not always the case for her.

It was days before I got to actually touch them myself. I finally got to wash them up and serve her some black berries in them. I was very happy to see they were in pristine shape still. No scratches, no dents. She didn't even tear up the lids. These containers ARE toddler proof.

This is the bottom view..post toddler....

They were great. She didn't eat all of her snack, so I just popped the lid on, stuck them in the fridge and later they were back out.

She loved the sensation of the cold bowl. She ate the berries this time.

They are going to be great for lunches out- I can fit one of these in my purse filled with some gold fish or other small snacks, and she will be very happy to munch away on them. I also see her trying to take them from me again to play with if given the chance.

These are a definite must have when we start packing actual school lunches or back to work lunches!

Thanks so much to Mira Brands for sending these for us to try!

Privateislandparty.com Review of Fun Accessories- Easter and April Fools Edition

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

I was recently asked to review some products for Private Island Party. They sell super fun accessories with themes that are great for costumes, pranks, or fun with a toddler!

I was sent-

I received the package right away and was pretty excited. My daughter loves to play with hats and headbands, so these were definitely going to see a lot of wear.

These are not just marketed at kids of course, they are grown up accessories, so we always supervise the toddler closely. She tends to eat everything she can get in her mouth these days!   This doesn't stop the fun.

My daughter looks pretty angelical in this cute angel wing headband.  She thought the white feathers were fantastic as well as the tiny silver strings mixed in.. The best part was when I showed her that it lit up.

I know she liked this the best because she would not hold still for a picture. Toddlers!!!

Next stop is the Glowing LED Lightup Red Devil Horns. This is a great accessory for any adult or child's costume, or as a fun prize for party games. Easy to turn on and off, even for a toddler. Batteries are included ( great because I never remember batteries). One size fits most- and this is no lie- between Daddah's head and mine and the toddlers, we can all wear it.

Does she like this? YES!!

Don't mind the mess.. this is toddlerville!

Now for some classic gag gifts. The Funny Nose and Glasses - Great for any party where you want to look like Groucho Marx or just a goof. We had a lot of fun with these in the adult set, bu the toddler was not convinced they were right for her. No matter.. more fun for the grownups!

Now for the super awesome grown up fun. A whoopee cushion. I know, I know,.this seems like a teenager boy's dream prank, but I am not going to lie- we love fart jokes in this house, and the toddler is even in on these sometimes. She isn't so sure about this yet, but I think in a few years she will, and it is going to be hilarious.

We really enjoyed all of these items, and there a million more fun costume accessories and gag gifts and toys on their website. Check it out for yourself- and don't wait for Halloween- this is for year round fun!

Lotus Bumz Diaper and Legwarmer Review and Giveaway

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

I was recently provided the opportunity to review a Lotus Bumz diaper with matching leg warmers. I was pretty excited. I have heard a lot of good stuff about them, and I was eager to put the diaper to the toddler test.

First things- my daughter weighs about 30 pounds at the moment, and she is tall, tall, tall.

We have a hard time fitting shirts because she is so long in the torso. She also has grown out of a lot of her cloth diapers over the past few months. So we are not entirely average.

She is also a heavy wetter. So there is that.

I will say that I love elephants. I was told I would get either fish or elephants as a print, and even though the fish are super cute, I reallllly wanted elephants, and that happened to be what I got:)

The diaper is terribly cute. The leg warmers are the same. I love the design. I also love the feel of the diaper fabric, on the inside and out. It is really soft, and looks great.

I prepped the diaper and insert the way I normally do, which is several washes in the machine with Rockin Green soap. There is nothing special about the prep compared to any other cloth diaper I have found. I did put it in the dryer once or twice, but lately I have just been hanging all my pockets and covers to give them a longer life. ( I did not buy a lot of diapers at first, so my oldest dipes are pretty well beat from elastic to velcro. Skipping the dryer probably would have helped that)

SO the fit-

The toddler, peculiar as she is, was able to easily fit into this adjustable diaper. She is on the largest setting of course, but any baby under the age of 2 is going to fit in this I am sure, and for a long time.

The insert I was sent is a standard microfiber insert. We always need to double up on inserts, but that is toddler life. I had an insert from another diaper, and just stuffed it on in the pocket with the other. It fit nicely still.

These diapers are very trim. You will be very happy that your fluffy bum will be able to fit in more pants this way. They hold a decent amount with the 2 inserts, and I had no leaks.

I also found the diaper to fit the toddler in all the right places, with little gapping or stretching that shouldn't occur.

Because she is a little tall, we did have a little fold over going on once in awhile, but I suspect part of this is how I snap the dipe. I always have a little thing the first few times I use a new style of snaps. It always works itself out though.( and it doesn't effect the leak etc.)

Overall I was very pleased to try this diaper, and have it added to my stash!

Now for the leg warmers-- love them! We will be using these for some time, as there is still a lot of stretch and length to them for a toddler. It is going to be a breeze to use these when we (eventually) start potty training. No pants, but no cold legs either.

These look great don't they?

Welcome to the ShaveMOB Premium Shaving Razor Giveaway!!!

Welcome to the ShaveMOB Premium Shaving Razor Giveaway!!!
Hosted By:  Mommy Lesson Plans
Sponsored By: ShaveMOB.com

Seeing as how it has been winter and cold out for so long, most women, myself included, generally only shave once a week, maybe even every other week if it is particularly cold out.  Shaving takes time, time that many moms with young children usually don't have to spend grooming themselves. Plus, the costs of refilling those razors cartridge is outrageous! I mean, its a rare thing when us moms have the luxury to spend 10 minutes in the bath or shower alone to get rid of our prickly leg hair, but then when you have to pay for the razors on top of that?!  I'd almost rather remain stubbly like a cactus, okay not really.
Most of us live on a budget and buying razors shouldn't have to be an extravagant item on your shopping list.  And now that spring has arrived and summer is just around the corner, it will be too warm soon to hide our unshaven legs behind pants and nylons.  Its almost that time of year where shaving more than once a week will become necessary if we ever want to wear shorts and swimming suites out in public.

Luckily  for us, ShaveMob is hooking us up with this awesome giveaway for one of my readers to win a brand new razor handle, PLUS  a 2-month supply of razor cartridges. ShaveMob a new company that sells premium shaving razors online at a steep discount compared to retail stores, saving you money.  In fact, they could save you as much as 70% on your shaving supplies!  They offer this benefit without recurring membership fees or shipping costs.  ShaveMOB sent me a supply of their razors to try out and compare with my old razors, and I must say that I was very impressed with how well ShaveMOB's razors worked.  I usually have to replace my old razor after just a few uses or else my skin will get irritated with little red bumps all over.  I did not have a problem with this at all using ShaveMOB's razor. I am getting a smoother, closer shave than I was before, and I am saving bundle, its a great deal all around!
Based on my experience, I would highly recommend this ShaveMOB to my family and friends, and I will be buying mine and my husband's razors from ShaveMOB.com from here on out!
One lucky winner will receive a kit that contains 1 handle + a 2-month supply of the 6-blade refill, (mens or womens).  You can learn more about ShaveMob from their website, Facebook or Pinterest.
