Have You Seen Reebok Lately?

I was just approved as a Reebok affiliate this week, and I couldn't be more excited.

I have not purchased new workout gear since well before the baby was born, and this is giving me a great opportunity to explore what Reebok has to offer.

For example- check out these yoga leggings... I am seeing me in these. And having a great day.

Check out the clearance section as well if you a bargain hunter like me;)

If you are using Roundup, Quit it. It kills butterflies

Don't wait for the EPA to make it stop. Consider a nice substitute like 20% acetic acid. Or pull weeds (ok, I don't pull weeds either.)

But I do not use Roundup...

Tiny Prints Cyber Monday

Wordless Wednesday 2-26

Last weekend was Engineer Day at the AZ Science Center. We have a membership that we got a great Groupon deal on, and we can go as we please. The last month I have been so busy with my project work, that poor toddler has had more attention from Elmo than me, so I promised her a Toddler day- away from home, doing fun stuff. We went to see all the exhibits, played and had a great time. She was very interested in these guys up on stage- Astronauts! I did not catch their names, so I felt bad.. but she watched them for several minutes before deciding she had had enough. Funny toddlers! I guess having geeks for parents was bound to rub off.

Jewelry in Candles Wax Tart Samples Review

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

I was recently asked to do a review of the wax tarts from Jewelry in Candles. I received a small chunk of wax to test the scent from CandlePizzaz.com

I received Chocolate Fudge.

The scent was nice. Chocalatey, but not overly sweet. I was surprised that the small sample lasted as long as it did, and it permeated my house. A great scent!

You can check out the scent and others on their site CandlePizzaz.com

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Ozeri Rev Digital Bathroom Scale with Electro-Mechanical Weight Dial Review

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

We have a scale that has been in our house probably as long as we have been in it. The scale is ok, except it is never the same twice. It is also impossible to get the toddler to stand on. I have seriously been thinking of getting a new one, but was kind of lazy... When Ozeri approved me to review their scale, I was pretty excited.

The Ozeri Rev Digital Bathroom Scale with Electro-Mechanical Weight Dial is a pretty sweet looking scale. It has a clean design, comes with its own batteries and was ready to use within seconds of getting it out of the box. First thing I do, try to tap it to turn on like my old scale.. that is old news folks! This scale does not require that extra step. Hop on, get your weight and you are done!

I am very excited especially because my toddler likes to stand on it. WIN! I can now leave it on the floor, and can get a toddler weight without fussing, weighing us both and having to subtract. I may be lazy, but it is a pain. Especially if she is wiggling. So she thinks it is a swell game to hop on, and I can see her weight on a regular basis. I am not obsessed or anything, but she sometimes has these growth spurts, and I feel a little more sane when I see that number go up overnight...

The readout is clear. The scale goes even higher than my old one, and the weights are accurate and repeatable.  I really like that there is a low battery indicator so you have a chance to get a new battery before the old one is done...handy!

The other nice function is the auto off feature. After you are done with it, it turns right off. This keeps the battery life extended.

I like the look, and the feel of it on my feet in the morning. A very nice scale! If you are interested in picking one up, check it out on Amazon.

Majestical Jewelry Review

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

I was looking for something cute to wear with my pirate themed outfit for the Ren Faire a few weeks back. I was asked by the Majestical Jewelry website to  review something for them around the time we were planning our outfits. These seemed like perfect events!

I asked if they might consider something that would look good with my costume if they had the chance. They agreed.  The only bummer is that we ended up going to the Faire a week earlier than planned as the weather was going to be cool that day, and warm the rest. (This was a good call on our part- it was 73 the day we went, but in the 80s the rest of the days.. BLECH)

So, I did not get the chance to wear my earrings with my outfit. This time. I will be wearing the outfit again!

But enough of that.. what did I get? These dangly earrings!

I tried taking a picture of them but they are so shiny and mirror like, all the pictures had images in the earrings.. using this from the site, you can actually see what they look like. They are really sweet!

I do not wear long earrings often, as the toddler would pull them, but these are great for going out and such when the little lady will not have access to my ears. Not too heavy, and they look very nice with just my regular studs in my second holes.

They came in a really nice box and mini bag too so I can keep them safe from they other stuff in my collection. These are pretty fancy for the prices that they have. I think they are a great value!

So, pretty nice, right? They have some really cool pieces on their site. I am sure I will be visiting there again to pick up a few other pieces for myself!

Maybe something like this perhaps?

Leather Charm Bracelet from Penny Auction Canada Review

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

I love getting new jewelry to try out. I don't get terribly motivated to wear jewelry otherwise! My daughter is just starting to see the merits of wearing a necklace or bracelet, so I get to also. It is a nice change. Of course, now she wants mine!

I was happy to try a bracelet from Penny Auctions Canada.

You all know I am mad for trees.. this was the perfect bracelet for me to try out. It is really nice, and will be worn often! It came with a little adjusted chain so I could make it fit my wrists.. I possess large wrists.. always have so bracelets are always needing a boost. This one came with it!

So what about this website? They offer cool items like unusual jewelry for very low starting prices. You bid, you win. Pretty easy. They feature a Daily Deals area where I found neat stuff like this

Yes, that is a Tetris clock. I need this.

Prices seem reasonable, but the selection is really what grabbed my attention. I like looking at cool stuff! All of the bidding processes are explained on the site, and it is free to sign up. I suspect if you are looking at something and you want it, that you buy it. I am pretty sure many items go fast!

Check it out with my affilliate link below!

Glow Bug Cloth Diaper Review and Giveaway

I posted a tweet a little while back about cloth diapering. I had a response from a dear reader that said she loved Glow Bug Diapers. For some reason, I had not tried them before. I decided to shoot them an email to see if I might get a hold of one to try out and review. They said yes! FABULOUS!!
They asked if I wanted a girl or boy theme, and I said anything you want to send except pink, since you all know we aren't into pink here.

I received the diaper in the mail, and I noted it was shipped from Arizona. Yay Arizona! ( ya know I am in Phoenix right?)

Anyway, it was black and white houndstooth. We happen to have a red and black houndstooth outfit. (Note- toddler spilled lunch on the shirt so we ended up with just the pants.. )

So this is the bum with the diaper and pants. It is a trim look! We ended up stuffing it with the insert it came with and another microfiber insert. She is a heavy wetter, especially after lunch.

Here she is trying to take off her pants. Kind of look like legwarmers, which makes me think that is what will happen to them when they are too small.

Up close.. and with torn up tissues. Her fave...

And the front.
She is a tall baby with a little post lunch pooch, but generally she is a pretty average kid.

Here is the inside of the diaper. I had not seen this type of pocket before. It is accessible from both sides of the diaper, but with the little strip in the center there to hold it in place. I was not sure how I felt about it at first, since it was new, but it is really neither here nor there.

Here is a loon at the front, fully unbuttoned of course, as my daughter is a toddler. This has a lot of adjustments and I can see this easily fitting a tiny baby through toddlerhood. Always a nice feature.

Here is the back view.

Here is the back of the dipe with the 2 inserts in it (don't mind my red fuzz.. lol) You can really fit a lot in here and that is what we need around these parts.

Here is the front pocket. I like these little flaps. I have tried pockets without them, and it never keeps the stuffing in unless you have the flaps. Great design.

So how do they work? I prepped them like I would any other diapers. Washed several times in a Rockin Green, rinsed a lot. And then washed the insert some more. I am very paranoid about inserts, so I was the heck out of them..

They came out looking great of course.

The moment of truth had arrived. As I noted- the first use of the diaper was for the after lunch pee. She drinks a bunch, and if you cam hold up to that, you can do anything.

All was well.

The first time I used the snaps, I had a little adjustment to make in my brain about how to snap them best. They are a bit of a different design than I am used to. I snapped too tight. So my little lady had a bit of an elastic mark. The next time I did them up she was fine. Not really any big deal.

They really have a trim fit to them. A lot of my other diapers are thick and wide, and can be impossible to fit pants over. This design holds it in and smaller pants can be worn!

After a few washes, the inside lining looked great, no piling or anything like that. I did notice we had some staining one day, but I will add that we had stains from a couple diapers that day. I want to say blueberries are too blame. I suspect that will come out with a little bit of attention from some soap..

Overall, I am very happy with the way the diaper has held up and performed. I would suggest you take a look if you are considering pocket diapers. They have some fantastic package deals, with some super cute colors.

Thank you so much to Glow Bug diapers for sending me a sample to try. I know we will be beating this diaper up for some time to come!

Also check them out on Facebook and Twitter for contests, news and cute fluffy bums!

Name a Star Service Review and Giveaway

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

Have you ever wanted to give the stars to someone?
You can, you know!

There is a great service online where you can name a star after someone you love with Name a Star Inc

What could be a more interesting gift than this?

I was asked to review this service, and I got to name a star for someone for free:) I was provided with the following information:

"This product is a name a star service. You will receive a certificate with the persons name you have named the star after with it's co-ordinates. You will also receive instructions how to view the star with google earth, where the recipient of the gift will see a personalized message left by you. A great gift ideal for so many occasions including Birthdays, Xmas, Thanksgiving, Anniversaries, Valentines, Births, Christenings."

I had heard about this service before, but figured it was insanely expensive, so I never bothered with looking it up. I was so wrong. The prices are very reasonable. Under $20 for a gift that will last for an eternity. You can't say that about many things.

So how does it work?

You go online, pick your name, and even a short saying or wish to go with your star. I picked one for my daughter and a cute saying that meant something special to us.She is just a toddler, but some day this will be a really cool thing for her!

It was an easy process. After you are done, you receive the coordinates of your star and how to locate it using GoogleEarth. You receive a certificate that you can print, and for us, this will go in her baby book.

Sorry, blocked out her name and coordinates;)

It was pretty neat. I love Google Earth too...

I took a screen shot to show what you see. The little pin will tell you where your star is, so you can bookmark it and check it out over and over again.

Some day when we learn about the stars and planets and what is out there, I will be very excited to let her know that there is a star with her name on it.

Great service. You should definitely take a look!   Name a Star Inc

Thanks so much to Name A Star for letting me review their product!

They would like to give away a star to one of you- so enter now!

Flannel Un-Paper Towels

So I finally got a little break from all my freelancing and stole a little sewing room time. I had purchased a plastic snap plier set to convert some aplix diapers to snaps and I had a few other things to work on..

I had a bit of a set back while working on a mama cloth pad.. I thought I broke the pliers.

As it turned out I broke the die, and it was replaceable. I bought more online. I then realized I had extras, so I was back in business.. Decided to finish this long running project that I was working on, which was these purple flannel un paper towels.

I figured this was a good way to practice using the snap pliers before I set out to use them on the Flip diapers. I love my Flips, and I didn't want to ruin them! Good thing I practiced. There is a learning curve!

However, I am very pleased with the end result.

It is basically 2 sheets of flannel, any size, sewn together, turned inside out and topstitched again to close the end.

Somethings I learned:

1. Use a template. Follow it.
2. Don't try to set too many snaps in a row. It hurts the hands.. might be better to sew a few, do snaps and go back.
3. Test the snaps. Sometimes if you don't set them right, they have to be done over.

4. Use a zig zag stitch for top stitching. The straight stitched ones did not wash as well. Will use them for un tissues;)

5. Do the snaps before you wash the fabric if you can.

I am happy to say they are awesome!  I gained confidence to do the diaper. The first one looks a little crooked, but it will be functional!

Dog Toy Review- KONG Safestix Large from Entirelypets.com plus Giveaway!

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

I was recently asked to review a dog toy from Kong, courtesy of Entirelypets.com.

Check out this birth article, amazing

Yes. This. Incredible article outline the pathetic state of childbirth across the country.

“Because I am less afraid of my body than I am of non-evidence-based hospital protocols.”

This quote entirely summarizes why I chose to have a non medicated birth at a Birth Center, even though I was told I was high risk ( my age and weight) by my initial OB.

I said no to her.

I had a wonderful birth and did not need all the IVs, induction chemicals and drama that can accompany a hospital birth. Not to mention I avoided the c-section that OB told me I was going to have. On my first ( and only) visit to her.

Healthy baby. Healthy mama.

Prom Dresses by JenJenHouse.com

I was recently asked to create a blog post from JenJenHouse.com. Have you seen their prom dresses? I clicked on over to check out the selection.

The first one I noticed was this one.. I just had a trip to the Ren Faire and this dress made me feel I was back in that world again.. a goddess. ( Ok it is no the Ren period, but that is not the point;)

If I was going to prom, this would be my dress. Hands down. The price is insanely reasonable. The cut is classic and the fit looks divine. I cannot imagine a dress making a better impression on a date to prom!

It comes in a few more colors as well, which were all beautiful. However, I would stick with white. I was also impressed that these dresses also come in plus sizes. You don't even have to go looking all over to find that size. They are just all included. Makes me happy.

You can find this dress here.

Check out- "American Childbirth: A Human Rights Failure?"

If you haven't read this article, I highly suggest you do. We can do so much better for labor and delivery in this country. We have been taking steps back in health and safety for years, and the finger pointing and guilt towards mothers is overwhelming.

I was insanely fortunate enough to have my baby at a birth center here in Phoenix. No interventions and no significant issues for us.

We were very lucky.

My original OB was bullying me at my first appointment (before I found the birth center.) She insisted I would have preeclampsia and a scheduled c-section, and I hadn't even had an exam yet.. this was all based on my age and weight. It was ridiculous to me. I fired her!

Were you bullied during a birth? Were you told you needed interventions to save your babies life? Do you feel that you were threatened to take action? Leave a comment.
