Guest Post by Jessie Voiers, and Her Commitment to The St. Baldrick's Foundation

It is my pleasure to introduce a fellow blogger and awesome momma to you. Her name is Jessie Voiers, and she would like to share a very special thing she is going to do in a few weeks. She has crafted a guest post to explain.. check her out and please consider supporting her goals.

**********************************************************************************

In 2012, I made the crazy decision to shave my head!

While bad hair days had been known to drive me crazy that isn't why I decided to go bald. I went bald for a wonderful cause! I shaved my head to raise money for The St. Baldrick's Foundation. It was such a great experience that I'm shaving my head again on March 15th, 2014! My goal is to raise $2000 to help conquer kid’s cancer and I hope you can help!

The St. Baldrick's Foundation exists to help bridge the funding gap in childhood cancer research. Did you know that all types of childhood cancer receive only 4% of US federal funding for cancer research? That makes St. Baldrick's the largest private funder of childhood cancer research grants! Worldwide 175,000 children are diagnosed with cancer each year. Luckily, St. Baldrick's is funding ground breaking clinical trials to improve childhood cancer treatment and fighting to find a cure. Shaving my head to raise funds for childhood cancer research is an honor!

You see I'm a mom to 6 wonderful kids. We have been fortunate that our children are for the most part healthy kids. Not all parents can say the same thing. There are too many parents rocking their children in hospitals instead of their homes. There are too many kids that are sick instead of playing outside and enjoying normal activities. Most of all there are too many children that have been lost to childhood cancer. What if the money we raised helped to save a life, or two, or twenty lives? What if the children that are fighting cancer all survived to do amazing things? Those children may grow be up to be parents themselves, or they may be the next great artist, or maybe they will even find the cure for cancer themselves. The children that fight motivate me and I hope they will motivate you!

It is my honor to shave my head in support of all children with cancer. Please join me and be a hero for kids!

You can donate online and you can keep your hair! Thank you so much!

Jessie Voiers is the laughing lady behind the blog Then I Laughed. Jessie has six children, 1 adopted at birth and 5 bonus children gifted to her upon marriage. When she isn't chasing kids around she loves to blog, go to the bathroom by herself, and find any bargain imaginable. She will soon be bald so should have some extra free time that used to be taken up by styling her hair.

Review of Vinyl Disorder Vinyl Nail Decals

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

I was recently given the opportunity to review a product I hadn't tried before. It is vinyl nail decals. This seemed like a pretty neat idea, and I felt like I might need to be fancy for my birthday party, so this was my moment.

VinylDisorder sent me 2 sheets of vinyl decals to try- hearts and stars.  They are a kind of shiny silver hologram print, and they were very sparkly!

Here are some lovely pictures of my nails before I applied the decals. I just used some old polish I had lying about. I was going to be wearing green, so I wanted to match.

As you can see, I am not the world's best manicurist.. but I think they look pretty cool so far...

So, yea, they are a little dull. This polish was matte, and needing a little something...I peeled off the vinyl decals from the paper, and placed them on my nails. I will say, I have never done it before, and I got the hang of it after a few tries. I wanted them all centered, but it didn't exactly go that way.

A note I will make- if you don't get them set right, it is not going to be a good idea to try to peel them up and redo.

I think they turned out pretty neat.

I ended up using several coats of clear polish over them. I think I used some old clear polish that I had. I think it would be a lot more durable with a thicker polish. The decals that I moved ended up peeling up on me- my bad. The ones I applied correctly stayed put.

I have some additional decals to use, and I know I will do a great job on them. More to come when that happens!

Thanks so much to VinylDisorder  for letting me give them a try!

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Ever Bamboo Review

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

I can tell you, our house has some serious funks.

Hockey gear    Man shoes

We often keep the hockey gear in the garage because it is full of funk. We always keep the shoes out there. Does my garage smell? OH YES.

I was very pleased to be able to review some anti funk devices- in the form of Ever Bamboo.

What is this all about? They sell products made of bamboo charcoal that naturally removes odors from funky places. This is right up our alley.

The first product I got to sample, was their soap. The whole package smelled great before I even opened it. Lavender. One of my favorite scents.

It wasn't time for a shower, but I did need to wash my face, so I sudsed up my bar, and set to cleaning. I was half way expecting this to have black suds, but they were white. Silky and great feeling, and washed off very easily.

My skin felt very clean, and maybe just the slightest bit dry, but it is dry here in Phoenix at this time of year, so that is ok. I was pleased with the way it felt, and I did not experience any breakouts later which I sometimes get with certain products.

The ingredients are
Water, Glycerin, Sodium Stearate, Propylene Glycol, Sorbitol, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Sodium Laurate, Sodium Olivate (Olive Oil), Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Sodium Chloride, Stearic Acid, Lauric Acid, Pentasodium Pentetate, Tetrasodium Etidronate, Bamboo Vinegar, Bamboo Charcoal Powder, Lavender
That all sounds like pretty decent stuff to make into a soap. I suspect that vinegar and charcoal powder are the fabulous ingredients that make this soap work the way it does. Yum!

My bathroom still smells like lavender. I am pretty pleased with this product!

Next on the agenda- the stinky man shoes.

My man likes to wear his shoes one pair at a time.. so they can get to be a bit funky after 12 hours are work. Apparently he does take them off at his desk but.. ewwww.

So here are the inserts for the shoes. ( oops, the hockey package got in the pic- but they are the shoe inserts.)

Here are the inserts in the shoes.

I left them in the garage on a table, with the package, so he would know not to interrupt the experiment.

I wish the internet had stink o vision so you could experience the difference in before and after. Blech.

As for hockey gear, well, I will say that there is a definite improvement in the scent.

The only bother is that the smelly man will re-scent the gear. lol. There isn't much to do to prevent that!

Missy Mila Volume 1 Review + Giveaway

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

I will admit that there are occasions when I need to do some work uninterrupted and I need to occupy my toddler with some screen time. I do not love the idea of this, but practically speaking, I earn my money freelancing, and sometimes I have a deadline and cannot arrange care for her. So we end up plopping a cartoon in the dvd player, and she will watch for a bit so I can work.

I was recently given the opportunity to review a new dvd called Missy Mila Volume 1, Twisted Tales. The target audience is a bit older than my daughter, but I thought it would be ok for her on some of my busy days.

First off the video includes the following episodes:

The Hidden Princess,
The Toupouloupou,
Baba Yaga the Witch,
Djoha’s Last Lie,
Piboule and the Bear,
Strabiwolf the Telltale,
The Donkey and the King,
The Houses of the Pig Brothers,
Elvis,
Captain Bloody-Nose the Pirate,
The Leprechaun’s Treasure,
Aurel the Mocker,
Pancho Pimento’s Riddle.

I plopped in the dvd and as soon as the music started, she was hooked. Now let me just say- she is not always interested in videos the first time she sees them. She would be happy enough watching the same Mickey Mouse cartoon over and over again. But I suspect that is probably not healthy for either one of us, so we try to mix it up, sometimes with failed results.
She loved this. She watched, without movement, for about the first 2 episodes. I poked her to make sure she was ok actually. I sit behind her on the couch, while she sits in her little rocking chair.. she didn't even rock. She was very interested.

She even like the credits. The music was engaging. The characters held  her interest, and I can see that this will be one that she will be interested in for some time. I enjoyed the way that the stories were weaving in traditional and non traditional elements. She can't appreciate that yet, but some day she will.

I always appreciate stories with tomboys. I was one as a  chilld, and I suspect my daughter will be the same. Very refreshing to not have all the princesses all over the place..

Overall, I was pretty impressed with the collection. I would be open to having her look at the second set of episodes that is available.

Thanks to Organa Kids for allowing me to review this video!

They would like to offer my readers a chance to win as well- a copy of Volume 2 is up for grabs- please enter below!

My Stash, My Stash, My Lovely Diaper Stash.

Ok- it seems like everyone that ever uses cloth needs a picture of their stash. I regret I never got to take pix of the newborn dipes we used. I have since sold them on ebay, and kind of wish I had saved that memory! Ahh, but the foggy days with the newborn.. I wasn't thinking about later!

BUMMAS CLOTHS Giveaway

WELCOME TO THE

BUMMAS CLOTHS Giveaway

Hosted by: The Go Mamas
Sponsored by: Bummas

We love all natural products here at Itzybellababy. We use very few disposable wipes- the exception being when we go out and about and do not want to carry around wipes and cloth dipes. At home though, we have a small collection of cloth wipes that we use to clean her when we do a diaper change.
Our bathroom counter has been a great place for diaper changes. We made a little cushion with a lip so she can't roll off and we lean right up against her the entire time. At 21 months, I can say I have hardly used a disposable wipe at home, and I have rarely used the changing table. Lol. I love having my wipes right at the sink, and I can wet them with whatever I want and clean her right up. I would love some new soft wipers for our area! I will be entering the contest too!

Pine Brothers Softish Throat Drops Review

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.
When I saw the signup to review some throat drops, I was smack in the middle of a sore throat and cold outbreak in my house. I was very excited to try this product!

I was asked which flavor I preferred, but since I never had them, I asked for one of each. And wow! Pine Brothers sent me an incredible pack of stuff to try. I was happy!
 Honey
I opened the honey flavored first. I have to say, I love the flavor of honey, and this did not disappoint. The aroma from opening the bag was incredible. The taste was even better. I was not sure what to expect in terms of texture. “Softish” is about right. Once you eat one, you will understand. It is not quite like a gummy bear, but definitely not like a regular cough drop either. It was very satisfying texture wise.
 Black Licorice
I also received black licorice flavor to try. If you are not a fan of black licorice, this is not for you. I enjoy it myself. It was also a very satisfying taste and aroma to me.
 Cherry
This one is probably going to be the one most people like best. It is delish as well. Sweet but not overly so. Quite a good flavor.
I saw that the ingredients included glycerin. This keeps your throat feeling hydrated. I really could have used these on those days I was sick. I had that itchy dry cough for days, and this would have been a great product to have on hand. I will admit, that since I got the drops a few days ago, I have almost eaten the entire bag of honey flavor.. and I am not even sick;)
The best part about these drops is that they do not have menthol. I never really find that menthol enhances my sore throats, so this is a bonus to me.
I was sent bags and “pucks” of drops. The bags are great at home, since they are easy to get at. For the purse or desk, I would go for the pucks. The extra added fun is for the toddler, as she gets the empty packages when they are done.

Overall- a great product that I was very happy to review. I will definitely be buying these again when I run out. ( Since they sent me so many to try, it may be a little while;)

Caramel Matchaccino Review

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

OMG I adore green tea. You all know this from my other reviews of the products that Red Leaf sells..I go crazy for the stuff. I really like the option of having something cold to drink though...

This mix is easy to make, and isn't terribly unhealthy. I liked it with whole milk - I find that the fat and protein in that kind of milk makes everything taste better! I used my hand mixer and it took my literally seconds to make. I did it all in a red solo cup..lol! Very easy, very good!

Matcha is really a nice quality of green tea, and I am a huge fan of it. You can not go wrong on this if you love a certain green beverage at a certain popular chain! ( thiis is actually tastier due to the caramel.. omg)

Go and check it out! Red Leaf.
