Card.com- something you should check out!

I was recently given the opportunity to review a Visa debit card, from Card.com. I was pretty interested in this, as I have never used one before, and it seemed that it might be pretty useful to me.

They sent me over the link, and some instructions, and I was on my way to selecting my FREE personalized debit card!

Here are some of the cool choices on their splash page-
USA Curling
Star Trek
Breast Cancer Awareness

I think it is a pretty wild selection of cards, no? Right away I typed in hockey- I saw there was an option to select team colors..nice! I think I want the Star Trek more, so I selected that.

I was on my way to entering my personal info. It took less than a minute and I was approved. My card will be on its way in less than a week.

There was a link to email the info to my employer. Apparently this can be loaded with the wages from your employment.

I looked around some more to see how I was to get money onto the card. I can see direct deposit, Money Pak, Paypal, bank and even Western Union. Seems like they haven’t left anything out.

The instructions for using each method looked pretty straight forward. I can imagine this will go pretty quickly when money needs to go on the card.

I was intrigued by the features- usable like an ATM card ( with 22,000 locations- beats my bank!), no overdraft fees, free transfer of money- card to card or just to fill it. I also liked that there is an app for my phone so I can see my money being deposited without being on my computer.

This would be an ideal card for someone with bad credit, or recovering credit. They don’t run a credit check. Funds are protected by the FDIC like a regular bank, and the card has 24/7 service, so if you have issues, you can call as needed. I have to say- when I NEED to call, it is rarely during banking hours.

There are some fees associated after the first 30 days, $5.95, but these are waived as long as you deposit at least $800 in the previous 30 days. If you are using this card for everything, that should be ok.. but it is still in line with regular bank fees if you did have to pay them.

Card.com. looks like an interesting service, and I can’t wait to receive mine so I can give it a whirl!

As noted above, I was paid to publish a blog post about this service. However, all information above is my opinion of my experience and what I read on the website. Thanks for looking.

Wordless Wednesday

Well, I have officially interpreted Wordless Wednesday as an opportunity to show a pic of my lovely baby and her fun times playing with some MagnaTiles at a local museum.

I love her intensity when she plays.

The way she touches to toy and explores all the textures and edges.

It is amazing how they change so much so quickly.

Here are the top 10 things my toddler eats

Feeding a toddler is kind of like feeding an insane amnesiac at times.
One day there is a food that she can not get enough of, and the next day or even week, the food is considered pure poison.

Somehow, we as parents, must fill this little crazy with nutritious and tasty foods. I find it a challenge week to week to have the wide variety of things she enjoys. Since we do mostly baby lead weaning, she could eat what we eat, but instead we base what we eat on what she can.. its a little backwards at the moment for purists, I guess, but as long as she eats, I am happy. I am not into the power struggles and our trying to get one more bite in etc. so I really try to give her a few options and keep loading up her tray.

She is usually pretty accepting of trying a food, even if she gives me a suspicious look over it.
She won't eat skin on fruit, or lunchmeat.
She likes her tastes separate.
She dumps it all on the floor when she is done.

There are a few things she seems to be able to eat- most- of the time.

Fage yogurt

Every once in awhile I get an invitation from Bzzagent to try something new ( for free!) and spread the word about it. I recently got accepted to the Fage yogurt campaign.. can I say yum?

I love plain yogurt generally. I like to use it as a sub for sour cream. I add it to soup and I definitely feed it to my baby. She can't get enough of this stuff. She wanted to feed herself, because I wasn't spooning it in her mouth fast enough...

Anyway, my latest idea for a quick lunch included some yogurt- quite coincidentally. I whipped up some whole wheat pasta, and spooned a few scoops of red sauce on it.. zapped it... I had it in my mind that there was some mozzarella cheese in the fridge to sprinkle over it, and there wasn't. I was sad.. I thought- hey- why not try yogurt? And so I did. And it was delish.

So be creative, or be boring.. yogurt is so good for you, and this one is super tasty. They say it is healthy too, but you know, I am trying to satisfy a fussy toddler.. so sometimes tasty is where it's at!

Did you know I play hockey?

For those of you that know me in the real world, you know I am a huge fan of hockey. I love to watch, but mostly, I love to play.

I will preface all of this by saying that I never really was into sports most of my life. I didn't care for the competition or the drama that I seem to see associated with it. So it was pretty shocking that it suddenly began to interest me in my late 30's... it all kind of happened in a weird way. I was trying to pick up some spare cash by doing mystery shops, and I saw one for a credit card company that was going to have a kiosk at an upcoming Phoenix Coyotes game. The pay was a few free tickets, so you could get into the arena, and then a few bucks more. I was in. It seemed like an interesting way to pass the time.

Sunday... days of Linky parties are wrapped up

Well, I set a goal to increase my blog traffic this week. I posted a few times, I had 2 tutorials that I used for the parties, and I have to say, I am a bit disappointed in the results.

For the amount of work I put in, browsing the other's pages in the parties, I did not get back even a fraction of that in clicks. I got maybe 1 from some of them. It was very disheartening.

Wine saying stamped card Tutorial

I happen to love this stamp- I laughed so hard when I saw it the first time, and decided that I needed it. And I needed to make a million items with it as well.

I also decided a tute was in order. This isn't a terribly fancy card, but I really enjoyed making it.

Funny baby

I was sitting watching my toddler play quietly this morning, and I thought- wow. She really is a good kid, and I am pretty lucky so far with the way she has been developing.

Then it was noon-thirty-ish, that blissful time when she tells me, with her sign language, and her words- shleep. I shleep. She goes over to the living room gate, and tries to open it. She waits. We prep her bottle, she watches. I gather my laptop and phone, and set it all up to charge for her nap. She helps herself to the bottle, and I change her diaper, right in her bed today.. normally I don't do that, but she was so happy with her bottle, I couldn't help it. I thought- wow. She is going to sleep fast today. HA!

All Things Thursday Blog Hop

Thursday is pretty much like other days around these parts.. feed baby, clean baby, play with baby, do laundry, play with scrapbooking, posting on etsy and ebay.. and looking for jobs. Well, at least its trash day! And I think the man is making some steaks on the grill tonight. MMMMMmmMMMM!

Here is something I made recently-
